Pray for Alice Last Thursday, 13 year old Alice came to our after-school program with her friend Betty. Alice promptly shared, “Betty needs somebody to care.” Betty is also 13 years old and 8+ months pregnant with child. Our totally volunteer organization is committed to helping our neighbors living in poverty help themselves. We believe poverty includes those deemed to be “homeless” and much more. We also believe that poverty impacts us all. Betty is one face of poverty. Without intervention, she and others of all ages in varying life circumstances are likely produce more of the same. This coming Tuesday, February 4 (7PM) in the Airport High School cafeteria (1315 Boston Avenue in West Columbia) learn more about poverty and our efforts to help our neighbors at “Vision 2014.”
