Pray for Syria The Believers, in their mutual love, mercy and compassion, are like one body: if one organ complained, the rest of the body develops a fever. [Bukhari & Muslim] The US and allies began airstrikes in Syria yesterday. Civilian casualties have already been reported. Please keep our brothers and sisters from our blessed Al-Sham, in your duas. Theyve endured such hardship over the past three years from the brutal Assad regime -- And the brutality and suffering continues today. Zaid ibn Thabit reported: When we were with the Prophet (saw) writing down the Qur’an on animal skins, he said, “Blessed be Al-Sham.” They said, “Messenger of Allah, why is it blessed?” He replied, “Because the angels of Allah spread their wings over it.” (Narrated by ibn Abi Shaibah, Imam Ahmad and Al-Tirmidhi.) If you have means of sending humanitarian aid or donating to verified organizations aiding the people directly, please give within your means. None of you truly believes until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself. [Bukhari & Muslim] Although helping our brothers and sisters may not be physically possible in all circumstances, its important to always care and be concerned for their affairs, regardless of geography or language, and do whatever is possible within the circumstances. We must care, or even train ourselves to care for Muslims in nearby or remote parts of the world by reminding ourselves that our bond with all Muslims is that of brothers and sisters. And hold fast, all of you together, to the Rope of Allah and be not divided among yourselves, and remember Allahs Favour on you, for you were enemies one to another but He joined your hearts together, so that, by His Grace, you became brethren, and you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus Allah makes His Ayat clear to you, that you may be guided. [Al-Imran, 3:103] Keep our brothers and sisters in Sryia in your duas. May Allah protect them and ease their hardship and pain. They intend to put out the Light of Allah (i.e. the religion of Islam, this Quran, and Prophet Muhammad SAW) with their mouths.
