Pray for each other so that you may be healed.... James 5:16 I - TopicsExpress

Pray for each other so that you may be healed.... James 5:16 I started out my day like any other day on September 11, 2001. I owned a Small Used Auto Lot out toward the Jacksonville Beaches, and today was Tuesday my normal day of collecting payments on the Vehicles I had sold, fixing any mechanical problems on the ones I had just bought, and making a few oil changes for those that needed it. I had a cup of coffee and the day kept rolling like most days at my lot, but as I always had the TV on in my office, it was interrupted by "Breaking News". The Trade Center Buildings in New York were in ruin. Large Planes had forced loaded planes with passengers to ram the buildings loaded with people as well. Another Plane headed for the Pentagon, and still yet another was un accounted for, but the US Officials knew it was under siege as well. The United States of America was under attack here on our soil. Today I will remember it not as just a horrible day in our history where so many people lost their lives. But one of shimmering hope! Not a day to remember murder, terror, fire, and fear----or even worse, a day to only celebrate vengeance. But I will remember those of roaring courage of the people who rushed to help others out of the fire and ash, the people who used their last minutes on earth to call their families and say " I love you . I love you. I will always love you forever," I will pray for them today and for us and even the poor silly murders, themselves who were just lanky frightened boys, in the end, bloody boys terrified of a free world. I will remember the fireman who ran up, knowing they would never come down, the passengers storming the unaccounted for planes cockpit, the sergeant who ran out of the Pentagon to catch women leaping from high windows is the way to erase the name of the chief murderer. I say if we remember right, if we pray with our hearts in our mouths, maybe someday no one will remember the architect of ruin, but everyone will remember a day of courage, mercy, and the glory of human beings rose to such a tide that no one will ever forget. Dear Lord, for the murdered, we give our prayers. For the murderers, we give our prayers. For us, frightened and muddled, we give our prayers. For the courage to remember right, to witness and sing grace under duress, to someday find the country of forgiveness, we send our prayers. Lord let us remember not this day for a day of death and destruction but one of courage, faith, hope and love.
