Pray for the Future You “Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17 When I was young, I would always pray for my future self. I didn’t fully know where God would lead me in life, but I knew whatever He was going to do with me that I would need lots of prayer. So I would pray and ask God to help that woman ten, twenty, thirty years from now. I would say, “Lord keep her close to Your side. Cause her to hear Your wisdom and obey You. Whatever she goes through in life, Lord keep her reminded of Your great love for her. ” God has answered those prayers and He still is answering them. As a woman, wife, mother, and servant of God you will go through many phases, and each phase will bring about change. How you handle these changes means everything. This is why it is vital that you cover yourself in prayer. You want to go through the changes that life brings as smooth as possible. So pray for that future woman. Learn from those around you. Become knowledgeable in God’s Word so that you can be better prepared to handle where God is taking you. Your future doesn’t have to look dismal and grim, doesn’t have to bring you worry or anxiety, and doesn’t have to overwhelm you. God is with you and your future is secure in Christ! So spend time covering your future in prayer, and when anyone asks you what your future looks like, tell them, “It’s beautiful and bright!” Prayer: Father God, I thank You for everything You teach me by Your Spirit. I pray for that future woman down the road. I pray You cause her to grow in wisdom, grace and power. Increase her in every way. Whatever test she faces, I pray she seeks You Lord and receives help from You. I pray she never forgets how deep Your love is for her and that she will spend her life helping others see the same. In Jesus Name, Amen.
