Prayer Guide for Monday, November 24th - John 15:8 - When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father. What happened to the parable? If being fruitful in God’s kingdom is what blesses God then this verse has everything to do with this parable. Weeds negatively affect any crop and since being productive is what God desires we need to identify the weeds that may be diminishing our fruitfulness. First, a word about being fruitful. What is the fruit that Jesus referred to? It is bearing the character of Christ. It is demonstrating a life that is being lived in connection with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (See Gal.5:22-23). Are we being as fruitful as we can be? Or, has our crop been diminished by weeds? Holy Spirit open our understanding that we may see the weeds in our lives.
