Prayer Line! 1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; 2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior (1Timothy 2:1-3). When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan (Proverbs 29:2). For the few past weeks we have spent sometimes looking at the leadership crisis. Yesterday again in our prayer meeting; we have this book of Timothy in our prayer meeting under the leadership of Pastor Lishje Vanennburg. Now if someone will just take time and look at the entire Bible the person will be surprised to see how many passages that God has taken to ask us to keep praying for those in leadership so that He will guide these leaders so that everybody will have a quiet and a peaceful life (1Timothy 2:2). We do not know how many people that were taking these requests seriously. And the surprising thing is that in most cases the Bible is not talking about those in the Church leadership alone, but, likewise with those in the secular world. And it does not matter where you are; the real truth is that there are leadership crises from the North to the South and from the East to the West. And most certainly every of these crises have to do within internal crisis. There is this mistrust among the leaders within themselves; there is disrespect for one another. And some people could not be able to exercise patience to give others the chance to prove themselves, first, before criticizing them. We believe that if there is to be any good intention those in oppositions must give those in leadership every moral support that they needed since the both sides were representing the same people. And the truth remains that any child who is crying so that her mother will not sleep, she too will not sleep. So any party that unlawfully brings one other party down, she too will equally be brought down (Galatians 6:7). “It is always united we stand, and divided we fall.” Now, this is how we are going to pray: First, we have seen that when the righteous are in power the people will rejoice (Proverbs 29:2). And we think that there is a powerful position that God has established for such a time as this. So we are going to remind God of His Word like this: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land (2Chronicles 7:14). Confessions of the sins of our nations are required; so we begin by confessing our sins and those of our leaders. And also we will ask the Living God to turn the hearts of our leaders toward Himself in righteousness. To fill our leaders with the Spirit of His wisdom, and to enshrine them with goodness and mercies, may the good God empower them with visions that will open doors for greater opportunities to every country that we are representing through this prayer. Above all that God should rebuke the spirits behind every of the internal crises, mistrust and disrespect for one another in Jesus name. Amen.
