Prayer Line Devotional Todays Prayer Line Devotional Recap (11/28/14) Scripture: 2 Kings 15 Testimony: Spending time with family, Traveling mercy, Keeping fast, Seeing God work through our obedience, and SonShine in my soul when our lives do not seem bright. Topic: Kings of Judah and Israel Questions/Comments: -Even though the King did good in the eyes of God there was ongoing idol worship to the pagan gods. We mustnt allow residue of ungodly things in our lives. If you are going to follow God you might as well give him no less than 100% -God warned the people about having an earthy king for Israel. Yet, even after the warnings and the several failed kings: all the children of Israel had to endure through suffering caused by the corruption of their kings. The nation rejected his sovereignty of the true king with no thanks - Why didnt God just make all the sinful rulers terms short? The various lengths of the kings reign could have been parallel the ability to advance in sin causing detrimental shorting of life expectancy.There is a pattern of kings sins lingering causing the people to be vulnerable to its exposure. It seems no king would be able to reign in a kingdom without sin. Regardless, if it was because of personal issues or encouraging others IN their sin; such as worship of pagan gods. -The sins we are hiding is public in Gods eyes. God deals with sin where it starts. Sin tends to incapacitate you within the sin making you one with IT and losing yourself. 2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. -Why is good vs bad in the eyes of the of the Lord important? Showing who is for him or against him: majority doing something does not make it right, His eyes are the ONLY eyes that matter, His standard is the only one that matters and the only standard we should live up to. Gods standard composes of only God alone -Choice is never eliminated: we should make the choice to be like Christ. We are apart of the royal priest hood: Adam, David, Moses, Enoch and most importantly Christ. Surpass the desire to be king and desire to be a follower of God entangled with maturity to be king! Just remember good or bad: someone will always be watching/following you : Even as kings. Leave a positive influence and a Godly influence as a legacy: allowing people to know you were lead by God. Prevailing thoughts: -HOPE: Helping : Us: Grow: Spiritually -Patience is not It is not about waiting. It is about the behavior while waiting Prayer request: Guidance as I go forth in making decisions on how to proceed with things in my life, more strength: endure temptation and remain on the path of righteousness, protection of nieces (Hedge of protection around the children), patience and diligence, spirit of depression ceasing among Gods people, End of the semester ending in well in the sight of the Lord, That our lives be pleasing to God and acceptable, No more residue of sin, continue to encourage one another, and no negative thoughts. Prayer line CHALLENGE: - Take the time to be extra friendly today: Post a picture of you and -Go to bed at least between the hours of 8pm - midnight or at the agreed appointed time to receive the well deserved and needed rest.
