Prayer Of The Day Thursday, January 08, 2015 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to bring glad tidings to the poor. Lk 4 Lord, you chose to read these words from Isaiah as part of a description of what you came to do. You call us to share in your mission and to reach out to those who are poor, those who are on the margins. We serve you when we serve the hungry, clothe the naked, visit the imprisoned and welcome the stranger. As we focus on “welcoming the stranger” during this National Migration Week, help us to bring those undocumented strangers out of the shadows. Help us to share our homeland with them. Help us to keep their families together. Amen.
