Prayer Request Most of you are aware that over a year ago I encountered traumatic experience where my airway closed due to strep throat leading me to be trached and a long stint in the ICU. Prayers from around the globe (some I never knew), amazing doctors/nurses, and God championed my full recovery. After countless doctor visits and tests it has been determined a real delicate procedure must be performed. So here are the facts….my epiglottis is not shaped appropriately and it’s retroflexed resulting in limited air supply. Second, the lingual tonsils (located on the back of the tongue) are super large and are pushing my epiglottis even further closed. There is nothing that can be done with the epiglottis, but they are going to shave off the lingual tonsils and laser off a thin line of my epiglottis in the attempt as my tongue heals the scar tissue will pull the epiglottis out giving me more air. This Monday I will have amazing doctors/anesthesiologist that will perform this delicate procedure robotically with great caution to my airway (fear of it closing is high). The healing process is three to four weeks and extremely painful so I come to all my friends and family requesting prayers for not just me but my family as well. I would like for you to pray for the following things: wisdom, strength, patience, acceptance, and quick healing during this time.
