Prayer Warriors.... PLEASE lift my friend Cynthia Yagi Up in Prayer! This is her latest email update to me: She is battling so hard to be strong and cope. Cynthia wrote: Thank you everyone for your continued support and prayers. So, friends David and Nevenda carted me off to San Leandro Kaiser yesterday. We listened to Christmas music on the way over, which keeps me a good frame of mind. Carolina the nurse and a pharmaceutical rep met with me and said there was much discussion about my case regarding my leg wound. They decided to put the debridement off. Carolina said, “This wound is no longer funny.” (Her way of expressing how serious it is.) One option discussed was using pig’s bladder somehow to fill the hole, but I was relieved when they had a second option they thought would be even better—a continuous application of these sheets made of dried amniotic sac (human). This is not stem cell related. The sac is donated by the mother after the baby is delivered. The sac contains growth factors and other things that can promote healing. So, next week they’re trying to coordinate a major debridement so everything is ‘clean” and ready for the application of the sheets. I anticipate this debridement and recovery will be the most painful of them all since they will be aggressive. Of course, I’m praying for no pain etc! I feel they’re pulling out the big guns for me. I’m blessed that all of this is covered by Kaiser. My struggle is to keep focused on the goal—and that is to be healed. I go day-by-day in a blur of just getting through it, just getting bandages changed, just trying to get food in me. . . I’m still super underweight and I also notice my skin has become “papery” and thin like an elderly person. sigh. But God. I’ll try to remember to tell you when the procedure takes place. Until then, trying to schedule a prayer time for me. In a dream my friend’s grandson walked up to me, laid hand on my leg and the power of God came through him so forcefully my knees buckled. Had to do with healing. So trying to have people from that family come this weekend. More soon--Cynthiak you in advance!!! P~
