Prayer brings us closer to God. Thats our goal in life - to one - TopicsExpress

Prayer brings us closer to God. Thats our goal in life - to one day be welcomed home by the One Who gave His life for us to join Him. We sometimes take all this for granted as we go through our daily lives. I know I do. Its so easy to lose our focus. This past week we celebrated what we call a day of Thanksgiving with a meal. We spend days preparing the food, cleaning and decorating the home ....... or traveling to a planned destination. Most of us have a wonderful time and then go back to our daily lives. One day we are going to go to join our Father for THE Meal of all Meals - the Wedding Supper of The Lamb. Our family will be at this table.Behold, I stand at the door (of your heart), and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Revelation 3:20 My prayer this morning is focused on the healing of each of our hearts. We are entering a season of rejoicing and we are in dire need of His eternal healing which comes in only one way. “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” John 14:6. The first step is believing and accepting His offer of perfect love. The second is forgiveness. We must forgive - even what we consider the unforgivable. And then we need to look into the mirror and forgive the one we see there. Father we come to Your table this day to offer You the worship only You deserve. You spoke this world into existence, but You took the time to mold each of us. And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7 You breathed life into each of us - Your creation - so that the life in us is Your life. You created us for Your Good pleasure. We worship You LORD - King of the Universe. We know that the only good in us is what has come from You. That Good is Jesus. We were born with a sinful nature and only He can forgive us. But to receive that forgiveness we must learn to forgive as well. Help us LORD to understand that. Heal us LORD as only You can. Your healing is perfect - and we cannot truly live without it. There are those who have lived their lives to the fullest. Some are our parents, some are our spouses and some are our children. Time is in You hands Father and only You know when we are to be invited home. Make tender the hearts who dont yet know You - do whatever it takes to draw each of Your children to You before it is too late. When it is time for each of Your children to be called home remind us who are left behind of the gift that we will one day also be called home. Help us to rejoice as You do and not grieve as those who dont know of Your eternal love for Your children. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. Psalm 116:15 LORD, be with our military as they go into battle. Be with our ally Israel as they constantly face the enemy. Be with our police and firemen as they work towards the betterment of our lives. Be with those who are in prison. Help us to Remember those in prison as if you were their fellow prisoners. Hebrews 13:3. the Scripture declares that the whole world is a prisoner of sin, so that what was promised, being given through faith in Jesus Christ, might be given to those who believe. Galatians 3:22. Be with all who suffer the dreadful illnesses that plague this earth and give them comfort and physical healing. Be with their doctors and nurses who stand at the ready day and night to help - and with the families who suffer twice - once for the loved one in pain and again for themselves because when one suffers so does the other. We pray for our country and its leaders. We are a broken nation but You have not abandoned us to the enemy. Make us strong again Father in Your Name and under Your banner. We bless Your Name. We give You thanks and praise. You alone are worthy. It is in the Name above all Names that we pray. In the Name of Your Son Jesus. Amen to the Father Amen to the Son Amen to the Holy Spirit. Amen.
