Prayer for Peace at St. John the Evangelist Parish This past Saturday, September 1, 2013 the Holy Father, Pope Francis, proclaimed for the whole Church a day of fasting and prayer for peace in Syria and throughout the whole world. Archbishop Chaput will open the Cathedral Basilica of SS Peter and Paul from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. for all Catholics and people to come and pray for peace in Syria and throughout the world. Saint John the Evangelist Parish will have time for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament following the Saturday evening Vigil Mass until 10:00 p.m. to coincide with the prayers at the Cathedral. The period of prayer and adoration will conclude with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament within Night Prayer (Compline) at 10:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Monsignor Prior
