Prayer for Spouses and SO’s Father, we pray for our One-Flesh relationship—that just as You have shown us mercy and forgiveness, we can and must to the same with each other. Help us to walk away from sharp words, harsh tones and misunderstood actions. Should either one of us sin directly against the other, make it clear to us immediately and let us both cast the issue as far as the east is from the west. And just as You never bring our sins up to us, do not allow us to bring old ugly memories back up and use them as fodder for our hurt feelings. Let us be quick to remember that we, too, fail and fail often; that we, too, are just as vulnerable to mistakes and errors. Your grace and mercy is our perfecting example of how we are to react and respond to each difficult and troublesome problem that comes into our lives. Thank you, God, thank You so much … In Jesus’ name, Amen.
