Prayer for today: Empty Myself Our lives our so full. Each day brings drama, tragedy, comedy all along the continuum of intensity. We run, walk, drag ourselves through our days filled with driving and work and homework and cooking and driving and.... Where do we find a moment of peace? We need to create it. And whether it’s 5 minutes or 15 minutes, it needs to be our refuge when we are free to empty ourself of the day’s events, the week’s troubles and triumphs, the month’s schedules, the year’s births and deaths, weddings and funerals. Blessed Mother, Holy Spirit, Lord Jesus, All the Angels and Saints and Holy Men, Women, and Children, help me see the value in emptying myself, of letting go of the events of the day, the week, the month, the lifetime! Help me breathe out the emotions of the day that I may rest fully and start anew. Help me to allow myself to cleanse me of expectations, anticipations, fears, struggles so that I may allow myself to see what comes, to live in what comes. Help me experience the emptiness not as a sadness but as a gift. For we can’t accept today, this moment, while our arms and hearts are filled with yesterday. Help me allow myself to empty myself. Help me smile into the space that I create and welcome the blessings that settle into my mind, heart, body, spirit. Help me see that when I empty myself, God’s universe can then fill me with its light and love, its grace and glory, its vast and immeasurable abundance. Empty yourself.
