Prayer has an attitude but it also has a position. Whether we are - TopicsExpress

Prayer has an attitude but it also has a position. Whether we are sitting, kneeling or standing, our eyes should always be to the Hill from where our strength or deliverance will come. In John chapter 17, it says as Jesus began to pray, He lifted up his eyes to heaven. If you are like me, and grew up in traditional religious circles, you were taught to bow your head to pray as an act of humility and submission. But that is not how Jesus or the apostles prayed. A son or child does not come before his father who is a king with his head down as a slave would but with his eyes to eyes knowing that regardless of his fathers position he expects comfort and not rejection. Think about this if you will. Jesus DESCENDED into hell but He ASCENDED into to heaven. When the ladies who came to the tomb to complete Jesus burier ceremony and found his body gone, the angel of the Lord said unto them why seek you the living among the dead. If you are praying for rain, should you not look to the heavens?
