Prayers for Pahoa!!!! from Cassandra Wylies status: Update: Went to Pahoa today for supplies and to attend the informational gathering at the High School. Most businesses are making plans to move their stock out within a week or a little longer. The health food store will not be getting any more food. There is a possibility of losing the town. We were assured that there would be emergency medical care, water and police protection. The scariest part was seeing a huge plume of smoke with an orange glow at the bottom from the town. I can hear bulldozers from where I live cutting through an old Papaya farm road trying to get an alternate route out. The energy in Pahoa is frenetic. It was exhausting to just keep calm and not pick up everyone elses panic. The air quality is getting worse as the smoke gets closer. I invested in a large room air purifier which is helping. I will stay with my home and cats for now. I have safe places I can go if I choose to do that. This is a most challenging zen lesson to make friends with not knowing. May all beings be safe.
