Prayers from Nascar off Track: Cope crew member has heart attack: Upon arrival at the airport in Phoenix, team members of the #70 Derrike Cope racing team had a different challenge to face before getting to the track this weekend. One of the team members, Dan, had a massive heart attack, team work kicked in and Mark, the motor man of the team, went to work and provided life saving CPR for about 12 minutes till the EMTs arrived on the scene. After getting Dan stabalized they transported him to the hospital. Dan had immediate surgery and had to have his heart stabilized from an erratic heart beat. Later, they performed a second surgery to insert some stents in his vascular system to give his heart some relief. Dan is doing well and expected to recover fully. Quick thinking by the team and the knowledge of CPR by his teammate Mark is what saved his life.(Lets Talk Racing)(11-8-2014)
