Prayers to the family of Brittany Maynard who carried thru her choice of ending her own life. She had terminal brain cancer- and Oregon law allows this option for those that are terminally ill with no hope of recovery. I dont put a value judgement on her or want to debate the ethics of her choice. She was an attractive woman who lived a full and active life until diagnosed with brain cancer last January. She was given just 6 months to live- and accomplished much on her bucket list until the illness got so bad she could no longer be active. Cancer is a horrible disease- and I find her story moving regardless of whether or not her choice to end her own life on a pre designated day wasmorally right. She did die peacefully with her loved ones at her side- as she had wished. It is just such a sad story that I had been following the past couple of weeks. For whatever reason- it just touched my emotions and moved me. While I dont judge her- I do admire her courage and desire to leave this world on her own terms. May she rest in peace...
