Praying for the Military Thank You, Lord, for the men and women of our armed forces. Protect them as they protect us. Defend them as they defend us. Encourage and strengthen each one - spirit, soul, and body. May all be mentally and physically strong when required to face the challenges of combat. Undergird them with Your Holy Spirit when they are called upon to endure the hardships of battle. I pray that nothing would take them by surprise, but that they would be aware of all potential aggression. Reveal to our military leaders the strategies and plots of the enemy. Strengthen them and give them wisdom and insight in all decisions. We pray that their response to any aggression by the enemies of our nation will be swift, accurate, and effective. Father, give our military favor with the governmental agencies of this country, and create a desire with the members of our Congress to appropriate sufficient funds to keep our nations military strong in the world. Fill them with Your saving grace and the gospel of peace that they may be shining witnesses of Your heavenly love. In Jesus Holy Name, we humbly pray. Amen.
