Praying through the Psalms Day 140 Psalm 70:1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. To bring to remembrance. Make haste, O God, to deliver me! Make haste to help me, O LORD! 2Let them be ashamed and confounded Who seek my life; Let them be turned back and confused Who desire my hurt. 3Let them be turned back because of their shame, Who say, “Aha, aha!” Christ our King who has walked among us and lived through the troubles of our lives, You were a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. You know the sufferings of our hearts especially when others conspire against us. You understand our weakness and our frailty. Lord, we pray to You in the hour of our trial. We feel the hurt, the limitations of our lives, the weakness, the brokenness, the struggles and more. Lord, help us. Lord save us. Lord deliver us out of our troubles. Please do not leave us or abandon us to our enemies. You promised that You would never leave us or forsake us and Your Word is always true, but still at times we feel abandoned. At times we feel as if no one cares for us. Lord, help us live by the truth, Your truth, and not by our feelings. Still we cry to You to send us Your help in a hurry. We feel like a man holding on to a cliff for dear life and we do not feel that we can hold out much longer. O Lord, hear us. O Lord, help us. Deal with Your and our enemies. Frustrate their plans. Let their plots and their evil come to light and may them be ashamed and rebuked and wonder that their plans could fall apart so thoroughly. May they have to cease their evil. May their plans to do this evil against me fail. Let them have to break off their evil pursuits against me, against any of Your children. Deliver us from evil. Let them be turned back and confused and ashamed of the evil they had plotted and planned in their hearts.
