Preaching this morning on the topic - WHY I DO, WHAT I DO, THE WAY I DO IT. For the first time in almost 40 yrs of ministry both in preaching and teaching, as well as gospel music and writing; the Holy Spirit told me last week: It is time for you to take up your apostolic mantle. Although many men and women of God has always thought that based on my walk in the body of Christ I should claim it; I have always shied away from it. As you all know I have a complete disdain for titles. But I have always believed that God has never stopped giving gifts to men and that include the 5fold or as some would have it 4fold ministry gifts. I have to honour the reservations in my spirit about how people come to function in those gifts though. I hope to have a 3 day conference on it soon. The bible clearly teach that we have to test those who claim to be apostles (Rev 2v2). And one of the surest test is whether those who claim to be, see it as a title for themselves, or a function in the body of Christ for the benefit of the body of Christ. So it is by the grace of God that I embark on this next leg of my journey and hope that all of it will transcend a mere quest for the honour of men; but instead translates into progress for the church as a whole. That I will be able to say like Paul that after youve read my books and listened to the preaching and teaching you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ which was not known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to Gods holy apostles and prophets (Eph 3v4-5).
