Preaching undergoing in Gospel Ramah Church by Pastor Tshalo Katshunga. Theme: Preparing our mind for right attitude. Acts 5:33-42 1 Peter 1:13 When looking onthe issue of preparing our mind for the Gospel, As we have privilege, so we have responsibility. The way we see God, determine how we live. James says, Faith without works is useless. James was preaching that when you are saved, you should serve. Because I am, therefore I do. Because I am saved, I have to prove my salvation by doing. Peter and the bunch of apostles are in trouble, we discover that 99% of trouble was more with saved than unsaved. Religion is much more than paganism. Religion is more like a vaccin, injected in the body to fight back. Every time God touches you, there must be a proof that God works. Acts 5, the all elders of the church are in trouble. Acts 6, the church people start killing one another. The church is dangerous than paganism. 3 attitudes that church need to look at: 1. Hostile spirit in the Church. Acts 5:33, they became furious when they saw the christians was radical in his faith. The first thing that we see, the church of God becomes hostiles to those serving radically. People criticize one another. Hostility against vital christianity. Why is the attitude of many people so wrong? Your attitude toward God The Sadducees are people who are intellectually committed. They were doctors and expert in Law. They new so much that they start rationalize everything. The measure question is: is sin relative or absolute? If it is absolute, then everyone must come down and repent. If sin is relative, everything goes. We put rules for other people, but we twist it for ourselves. A religious spirit is not an honnest spirit. Religious people within our churches are hostile to genuine christianity. The emptier the drum, the noisier it becomes. Hostility in our churches have destroyed people more than the demons. The weakness in our churches is many people talks more about God, but they do not know him. If the source of your word is not saturated with the presence of God, it is just cheap talks. It is not what you talk, but where it comes from. In Acts 38, Gamaliel the pharisee was dangerours than the Sadducees. His attitudes kills the church. He has the attitude of neutrality. The damage in the church of Christ is filled with neutral people. Never have nice guys in your team, as they are nice with you, and nice with your enemy. They will be nice to you even when the enemy takes your leadership down. The bible says you either hot or cold, but not lukewarm. Jonathan was God with David and his father who was against David. The church is weak because of neutral attitude, lukewarm attitude. The church is weak and cannot take the city simply because religious people are neutral. A child can never be neutral to his parent, even if they are crazy or bad. The bible says that you have to honor your father and your mother. If you dont, you are cursed. Be for God, sacrify for God. We will never take a city until we are radical. 3. Attitude of cooperating with what God is doing. Until you decide to have the attitude of cooperating with what God is doing. Acts 5:40-42 They left that place happy because they were restricted to do what they were suppose to do. They rejoiced in the mist of restrictions. In church, people failed to cooperate with God. In church same people who rejoice over new born agains, they frown and are unhappy when talking about money for offerings. They many times failed to cooperate with what the Lord is doing or saying. You can talk God talks yet not cooperating with what God is doing and commit self.
