Preface of Shaikh Muhammad Ibn Abdul-Wahhab Al-Wassabee (Allah preserve him) for “Clarifying (Al-Ibaana) the manner of dealing with disagreement between Ahl-Sunnah wa Jamaa’h” All praise is for Allah and the peace of Allah be upon the Messenger of Allah, his family, companions and those that follow them. Indeed Allah the Most High tries His servants with good and evil, blessings and punishment, unity and disagreement, poverty and ease to distinguish the truthful from the liar and the patient from the fretful and the correct from the wrong and the prudent from the imprudent as He the Most High said “Alim Lam Mim, Do the people reckon that they will be left alone by saying “We believe” and they will not be tested. Indeed We tested those before them, and We will know (come into existence) those who are truthful and those who are liars” Allah the glorified has instructed His servants when dealing with important affairs and great tribulations to return them back to the people of knowledge and insight. They are more knowledgably and deal with these affairs is a much safer and sounder accord than those of lesser status. Allah the glorified says “and when an issue of safety or fear arises they circulate it and if they were to return it back to the Messenger and those in charge (Leaders and Scholars) a proper solution would be discerned” However it is deeply saddening that every time a new fitna arises we find many of the people and more especially the youth falling successively one after another into it like the falling of flies into the flame of a fire. They either fain ignorance of the people of knowledge or show aversion to their advice and guidelines entering into issues of fitna and discussing them. After entering into these affairs they institute and establish principles and rules by which they place affairs in their unrightfully places and then base their association and disassociation of the people upon this incorrect institution and placing. You notice that from these hasty individuals are those that challenge anyone that opposes their way with disparaging, tafseeq, and tabdee’ while lauding, appraising and recommending those that agree and aid them. SubhanaAllah !!! How many honourable characters have been debased and relations severed and advices discredited and agreements and pacts broken. How many innocent people have been falsely accused and how many ignoramuses have been recommended and how many Ruwaiybadhas have spoken. If these issues were returned back to the people of knowledge and the bow was given to the archer these enormities would not take place. It is the people of knowledge that are the possessors of grounded reason and exact understanding. In front of you is this valuable book “Clarifying (Al-Ibaana) the manner of dealing with disagreement between Ahl-Sunnah wa Jamaa’h” It clarifies the previously mentioned problems in a clear and satisfying manner. The author has done well and benefited the Ummah by diagnosing the sickness and the cure. The numerous references from the Kitab and the Sunnah and finally the foremost people of knowledge have added to the beauty and splendour of the book making it a light and radiance for the seeker of the truth. As for the prideful and obstinate then we say to them “and Allah chooses to bestow His mercy on whoever He wills” As for the author of this book then it no other than Shaikh Al-Faqee Al-Muhadith Muhammad Ibn Abdullah Al-Imam the director at Dar al-Hadeth in Ma’bar. He has been granted by Allah the Mighty and Majestic the ability to combine between education, propagation, and book writing. He is a skilled faqeeh and an expert in modern day tribulations as is evident in his books like “The destruction of cosmological theories” and “The major conspiracy against a Muslim woman” and “Tamam Al-Mina in fiqh of Qital-al-Fitnah” and “Ilaam Al-Amajeed…” and other books of his. His books clearly reveal that he is a specialist in current affairs in the light of the Kitab and the Sunnah and the understanding of the Ulemah of this Ummah. May Allah reward him greatly and bless him in his knowledge and benefit Islam and Muslims by us and him, indeed He has power over all things.
