Preparing for the 1st term of the academic session of 2014/2015..... in earnest! We are so excited to hear from some of our graduates of the past eleven years: GRADUATES SPEAK OUT about the strong foundation that was laid in their lives during their educational years in The Covenant Academy, Abuja. SOWAPO ALONGE BIO-DATA- Age: 18 Years Background: The first child of our beloved Bishop, Bishop Bob Alonge. A foundation student of the school. He enrolled in the first year of the school in September 2004. He excelled in academics, sports and exhibited strong leadership qualities and good morals throughout his years in The Covenant Academy and Royal Family Academy. He finished 1st in his class in 2011 before transferring to a Christian High school, Faith Christian Academy, in Texas, USA. He is on the Deans list in his 1st year in a Christian university, South Western University, Texas. He is a very kind person and was always giving out his merits to other children to buy gifts in the merit shop in The Covenant Academy. Year of Graduation: 2009 Secondary School: Royal Family Academy, Abuja University: South Western University, Texas • ‘I learnt to do things at a good pace and learnt to regulate myself’ • ‘I learnt to respect staff and other pupils • ‘I learnt to relate well with different people from different backgrounds’ • ‘The Covenant Academy encourages parental involvement. It made a difference that my parents were involved in my school work. It boosted my confidence and greatly helped me to handle my teenage years well. GRACIOUS TOM-GEORGE BIO-DATA – Age: 12 years Year of Graduation:2011 Background: The first child of a loving family with four other siblings. Four of the children enjoyed the family discount. He is an excellent student with excellent morals. He is a joy to relate with and very friendly. He has strong leadership qualities and his parents are exemplary parents in the school. They are committed to their childrens welfare. All their children have either passed through the Covenant Academy or are currently enrolled in the school. Secondary School: (SS1) Redeemers Private Secondary School • ‘It changed my attitude towards my academics. I have now improved in the subjects I found difficult initially’ • ‘It helped me bond with my parents’ • ‘It gave me wisdom and helped me to know the difference between good and bad friends’ ROYAL TOM-GEORGE BIO-DATA: Age: 10 years Year of Graduation: 2013 Background: The second child of a loving family with four other siblings. He and three of siblings enjoyed the family discount. He is an outstanding student with excellent morals. He relates so well with people and he is very easy to correct. He also has strong leadership qualities and his parents are exemplary parents in the school as indicated above. Secondary School: (JSS2) Redeemers Private Secondary School • ‘The character traits I learnt in The Covenant Academy helped me to live a moral life’ • ‘The ACE/Nigerian blended curriculum helped me to improve in Maths, English and CRK’ • ‘I am able to relate well with people even when I have only just met them’. TONYE ATUBO BIO-DATA: Age: 14yrs Year of Graduation:2013 Background: Scholarship student for 4 years: a benefactor who knew his late Mum brought him from the village some years ago. The benefactor later died and he was to go back to the village when another parent in the school took him and his sister in and told the school of his plight. Our Bishop placed him on scholarship while the benevolent parent took and his sister in. He was in the school for 6 years and graduated from Grade 6. He has a bright future and every time we prayed for him, we saw a future leader in Nigeria. He also exhibited strong leadership qualities, good moral values and looks forward to being the president of Nigeria, one day. He is currently being sponsored by his adopted parent in secondary school. His sister just graduated from the school. Secondary School: (JSS2) Poly Secondary School, Minna • ‘What I learnt at The Covenant Academy has helped me in my relationships with my teachers and other students.’ • ‘The ACE/Nigerian blended curriculum helped me to improve the way I read and speak’ • ‘The extracurricular activities offered at The Covenant Academy has helped me excel in sporting events at my new school’ • The Character traits taught at The Covenant Academy have made me bold, strong and confident in who I am and what I want to be in the future’. SOPHIA IDEMUDIA BIO-DATA: Age: Year of Graduation:2011 Background: The first child in a loving family with two other siblings. His parents are pastors in The Capital Assembly and the father is a member of the Schools Board of Trustees. She is presently the head girl of her secondary school and her teachers are so happy to comment on her leadership qualities, passion for her school work and excellent moral values. She excels in her school work consistently and is always tops of her class in Lifegate Academy. Secondary School: (SSS1) Lifegate Academy • ‘The Covenant Academy provides a comfortable atmosphere to engage with the teachers and this has helped me relate well with my teachers at Secondary School.’ • ‘The ACE curriculum/materials use characters to illustrate Godly behavior including respect for parents and this has helped me in my relationship with my parents and family members’. • ‘The Covenant Academy changed my attitude and the way I think and act in certain situations.
