Prepping for Uganda - My Wife, the Hard Working Missionary As - TopicsExpress

Prepping for Uganda - My Wife, the Hard Working Missionary As were making final preparations to leave for ministry in Uganda Sunday, I wanted to honor my wife for her diligent efforts. Watching her the past two weeks, one Scripture passage describes her perfectly: Greet Mary, who worked very hard for you. Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. [Romans 16:6, 12] We both have been putting in extra hours prepping for our friends and directors of Windows of Hope International Childrens Ministry, Wesley and Jacqui Forde. [wohuganda/win3/] But Cynthia has been putting in some work! Personally, I no longer believe in a brand of Christian service thats authentic which doesnt require you to serve sacrificially others, not just yourself. Theres something about serving purely in the paradigm of Christ (Philippians 2:1-10) where you cannot be the end benefactor of your service; others must be.. Wesley and Jacqui for almost twenty years now have sacrificed to serve at risk Ugandan youth through the Gospel of Jesus Christ and disciple-making ministry, along with providing all the associated needs. In fact, one of our joys this trip will be attending the wedding of one of their sons, Samuel Waliggo; a young man theyve raised from a young boy to his college years. Well also see a young man we personally support, Bimark. I teasingly have been telling Cynthia: Jacqui has got you working!, as Jacqui is a Philly girl who left a lucrative business career in the 80s to answer Gods call to serve in Uganda. Jacqui is a precious committed servant of Christ. But she knows what she wants, how she wants it, the price she wants it and when she wants it. And Cynthia has been serving almost her every desire. In fact, we will be traveling to Africa with many more bags than ours to meet some existing needs of the mission station. But, its what we do! Most of my time will be spent with their pastor, Pastor Kalibbala Immanuel of the Nyendo Full Gospel Church. He oversees quite a few churches, some in the city and others deep in the villages. And guess where were going? Deep in the villages! I actually love visiting the village churches because, their often neglected due to the distance and travel terrain to reach them. I will also preach\teach at two church conferences, as well as Sunday morning and weekday services. Looking forward to connecting with the youth that fill Wesley and Jacquis home. There are many perspectives on what pure missions ministry is or is not locally and internationally, as critiquing points of ministry are endless depending upon the vanish point of the persons rending the critique. But for us, were simply amazed at how God uses people uniquely who answer His call to spread the Gospel of Christ and that through unique strategic approaches that achieves His one aim of souls saved and disciples made. Thats precisely whats happened through the longtime ministry efforts of Wesley and Jacqui Forde to reach Ugandan youth. And our joy is to share in their efforts, even if to play a small part. Pray for our journey!
