Pres. Obama: Now let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not “Islamic.” No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim. And ISIL is certainly not a state. If indeed, Mr. President, these terrorists are not Islamic, as you say, what does that make them? Unitarians? ... Further, the manner in which you define the word innocents and that in which the members of the non-Islamic Islamic State define the same word are vastly different. I would suggest, with all due respect, that their definition of innocents is a bit narrower than your definition. All of those who do not follow the last jot and tittle of their code are guilty, as far as they are concerned -- even fellow Muslims. Now, as to these terrorists definition of the word state, that definition is, on the contrary, much broader than yours. Their idea of state knows no national boundaries, because their hopes for Islamic hegemony transcend all political barriers. They will never be satisfied until they have subjugated the whole world to Sharia. But, you already knew that, didnt you? ...
