Presentation of the series of stamps and block Medalists of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi took place at the NOC Belarus headquarters. NOC Belarus and Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus presented a project Medalists of the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi which included three stamps and blocks. Presentation of the project was held May 2, 2014 in the NOC Belarus headquarters. The event was attended by representatives of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism of the Republic of Belarus, the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus, “Belpost”, National Federations and sports unions, coaches, athletes and other guests. During the opening ceremony First Vice-President of NOC Belarus Igor Rachkovskiy said that it was very symbolic that the presentation of the postage stamps was held today at the headquarters of the NOC, in the Hall of the Olympic glory. Ye also admitted that it was very important that the first Olympic champion Sergey Makarenko and the winner of the Games in Sochi Anton Kushnir attended the ceremony too. Igor also thanked the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus and the Belpost for their work. At the ceremony of the official cancellation of the current postal project took part: Anton Kushnir (Champion of the XXII Olympic Winter Games of 2014 in Sochi, freestyle (aerials), Igor Rachkovskiy (First Vice-President of the NOC Belarus), Mikalai Kazeka (Head coach of the National Freestyle Team), Andrian Tsyybulski (Head coach of the National Biathlon Team), George Katulin (Secretary General of the NOC Belarus). Anton Kushnir shared his impressions: - I like this stamp with my picture and the whole project. The quality of the project is high, it is very beautiful and we can see that everyone involved in this project has put his heart and soul into it. I will send stamps to my parents and friends. Participants were able to see an exhibition of art stamps for the Olympic theme of the previous years. The day the stamps are issued there will a special ceremony of cancellation at the Central Post Office. Used pictures of journalists accredited at the XXII Olympic Winter Games in Sochi : Natalia Ablozhei (BelTA), Nastassia Marynina (NOC Belarus), Serguey Neverkevich (Sovetskaya Belorussia), Aliaxandar Semianiaka ( NOC Belarus ) . Belarus took part in its sixth Winter Olympics and for the first time in the history our team took 8th place in the medal ranking : Belarusian athletes have won six medals ( 5 gold and 1 bronze ) . Medalists are: Darya Domracheva ( three-time Olympic champion , biathlon ) , Alla Tsuper ( Olympic champion, freestyle ), Anton Kushnir ( Olympic champion, freestyle ), Nedzeya Skardzina(bronze medalist, biathlon ) . Darya Domracheva, three-time Olympic biathlon champion , was awarded the title of Hero of Belarus.
