Presently, there are ripples within the BJP not to make Rajendra V Arlekar or Laxmikant Parsekar as the next CM, so this internal revolt within the government could spell doom for the BJP if not handled well in the 2017 polls as the next trouble will break out with the portfolio distribution...it looks like the BJP has now conceded a self-goal to the non-existent opposition Congress party with this move of elevating Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar to the centre as the first Goan union defense minister of cabinet rank... It is obvious that the choice of the next BJP CM will influence who gets into the cabinet as ministers and is allotted which portfolios, hence, the present hectic lobbying which will also result in demands for the alliance to be snapped with the MGP like that in other states with a more stronger demand of going alone in the next elections.. Michael Lobo has already hinted that the former St Cruz MLA Victoria (Mummy) Fernandes may contest as the BJP candidate in an effort to checkmate the MGP Michael Lobo Vishnu Surya Wagh Glenn Souza Ticlo and all other BJP MLAs like Nilesh Cabral, Carlos Almeida, Subhash Faldessai, etc. will now seek to increase their clout within the ruling government that was earlier deftly controlled by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar....hence, they will opt to back Francis DSouza as the next BJP CM....this will improve their political career that may quickly decline if a RSS-affiliated individual is selected as it may result in the minorities getting disillusioned with the BJP...Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was the glue that kept them together and now it is slowly thinning away....
