President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf ordered the management of Liberia Electricity Cooperation to begin connecting at least one thousand houses and business with immediately effect each month . Information Minister Lewis Brown said, the President decision was based on what she calls snail pace of the cooperation to connect houses despite resources provided the cooperation. Minister Brown said the LEC Management has agreed to connect homes and business in Liberia and has already commenced the process . He also disclosed that leeward counties including , Maryland , Nimba, Grand Gedeh, Lofa Bong, amongst other counties will also be connected through the West African Electricity power pool.
