President GEJ was elected as VP and not President in 2007. He has only been elected as President just once in 2011 and if Nigerians agree, he will be elected the second time in 2015. It is not about being from South South or not. I personally gain NOTHING from GEJ as President. However, this nation stands to gain from the path that he is opening and I believe that he should become a complete embodiment of the constitutional provision in order to build a sustainable civil nation. Until this moment, no civilian leader of Nigeria has completed the constitutional provision of two tenures of civil leadership as a President. Balewa was prevented by Ironsi. Shagari was prevented by Buhari while Abiola was not allowed by IBB. Obasanjo was the first Nigeria to do so but he was a former military ruler. Yaraduas death prevented him and we have just one chance now. No other Nigerian at this time has been lucky enough to accumulate the civil qualification that GEJ has. It is not because he is so great and powerful but he seem to have some providential advantage and mission. The first ever VP in Nigeria to become President in Nigeria is GEJ. Consider the manner he progressed from no where to somewhere. I believe there is a hidden hand behind this man and we should be careful not to miss an opportunity. It is not about the noise people are making about roads, oil, bridges, etc that he has constructed. In fact, if we consider how much money we have, he has not done enough of roads, bridges, etc. These are external issues. The key internal issues that many do not know has to do with the gradual opening of the path of civil leadership. Today, Governors, VPs can aspire to become President and will be supported by the military to complete their constitutional two tenures. This was not possible in the past but now made possible centering on GEJ. Anyone who is made President and provided the resources at the disposal of Jonathan can make roads, houses, create airports and all such external things. Anyone can do it. However, it will take this nation years to find another person with the civil accomplishments of growing from teacher to commissioner to Deputy Governor, Inherited Governor, VP, Acting President, Inherited President and Elected President who will again have a chance to complete two tenures. It has taken this nation more than 50 years to find this one person. We should be careful and not get carried away by external challenges while ignoring internal accomplishments toward sustainable civil leadership
