President. Sirleaf Visits Hospitals, Assures Health Workers MONROVIA, August 3 (LINA) - President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on Saturday participated in a technical meeting of the National Task Force on Ebola at the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare. Following the meeting, the Liberian leader toured a number of health facilities to encourage health workers and medical personnel to return to work in order to provide healthcare services to the Liberian population who are in dire need of medical care. President Sirleaf visited the Benson Hospital in Paynesville, St. Joseph’s Catholic Hospital in Congo Town, John F. Kennedy Medical Center in Sinkor and the Redemption Hospital in New Kru Town. In separate remarks at these hospitals, President Sirleaf assured health workers that she will host a meeting with all health workers later this week to inform them of some incentive packages in order to encourage them to return to work. At various stops, President Sirleaf said: “I just came to say thank you and to encourage all of you health workers who have come back to work in order to help the people of Liberia. I will be meeting with all the health workers (this week) to tell them how much we appreciate you and see what extra we can do for you to be able to encourage you to continue this work.” At the Redemption Hospital, the Interim General Administrator, Dominic Rennie, was on hand to meet President Sirleaf; while at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Hospital, the Acting Director, Brother George Combay received the President. At the John F. Kennedy Medical Center, the Deputy Director for Administration, Ms. Muna Tarpeh received the Liberian leader, while the proprietor of the Benson Hospital, Dr. Jimi Benson welcomed President Sirleaf. At each stop, President Sirleaf left a small token of assorted foodstuffs and disinfectants at the hospitals.
