President Wilson proclaimed the first Armistice Day with the following words: To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the countrys service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations. “Courage is almost a contradiction in terms. It means a strong desire to live taking the form of readiness to die.” As we celebrate Veterans Day today we are reminded of how courageous our sons are to have served many times in Iraq. We are so proud of you Damien and Dana. And THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts to all who served and continue to serve, you are brave and your sacrifices are appreciated by all Americans! A friend originally posted this, thanking her son for his service. I borrowed it to thank both of my sons for their service, and we couldnt be prouder!! Thanks Brenda. ;)
