Presidential Announcement -- M5000 Team Fellow AKA Members, As you know, the primary goal of the AKA Leadership is to educate and promote kiting in a way that inspires people to become active members of the AKA and, to ensure current members renew every year. At our peak, not so long ago, we had almost 5,000 members. Now, we are just above 2,000 members. Like anything, if people do not see the value in being a member of the AKA, they will let their membership drop. A lot of information is available for why people choose not to renew their membership in the AKA. We also know there are people that think things should be different and that is why I am pleased to announce our new focused mission: M5000 M5000 has a straight forward mission: Restore the AKA membership to 5,000 Members. To take the next step in M5000 we need your help. We are putting together a special task team that will work on organizing, reviewing and interpreting the data we already have, and collect new data regarding the value we can offer to AKA members to help grow our organization. We are looking for this team to be around 5 volunteers. The expectation is that the team will work over the next 60 days to make recommendations for what the AKA needs to offer to rebuild the membership. We will provide resources to support the team, such as facilitation, meeting infrastructure, and the tools needed to accomplish the task. The team will meet on a weekly basis (via telephone/web conference). The first meeting will be an introduction to the each other and the Mission. After that, we will begin to plan a thoughtful course of action, this includes brainstorming, research, sharing of ideas, and making recommendations. At the end of the 60 days we need to meet our goal of producing the M5000 recommendations to rebuild the membership. Once this team achieves its goals it will disband. If you feel like you would like to be considered for this dynamic team, please let us know. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy organizing data, research, working with others, active within the team, bring a positive attitude, willing to take on action items, competent with computers, and have time to participate in the team activities. This team will play a vital role in making M5000 a reality.
