Press Information Opelika Police Department 09/02/14 • A Burglary and Theft occurred between 10:00 A.M. on 09/01/14 and 1:45 A.M. on 09/02/14 in the 1000 block of Columbus Parkway. The victim reported some shoes, jewelry, and a pistol were stolen. There is a suspect and the case is currently under investigation. • An Identity Theft occurred between 03/14/14 and 08/27/14 in the 2800 block of Pepperell Parkway. The victim reported that someone took out a fraudulent loan using their personal information. There is a suspect and the case is currently under investigation. • A Theft of Property, Second Degree, occurred between 08/07/14 and 09/01/14 at 2105, Suite 2, Airport Road (Professional Plumbing). The complainant reported that copper pipe had been stolen. There are suspects and the case is currently under investigation. • A Shooting Into an Unoccupied Vehicle occurred at approximately 10:00 P.M. on 09/01/14 in the 400 block of Toomer Circle. Two vehicles had been shot into while they were parked in front of their owner’s residences. Neither vehicle was occupied at the time of the shooting. There are no suspects and the case is currently under investigation. • A Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument, First Degree, occurred at 501 2nd Avenue (Fred’s). The complainant reported that an unknown black male entered the store and attempted to pay for merchandise with a counterfeit $100.00 bill. The suspect left the store prior to the police arriving. There are no suspects and the case is currently under investigation. • A Theft of Property, Second Degree, occurred between 12:00 P.M. on 08/30/14 and 11:00 A.M. on 09/01/14. The victim reported that tenants that rented a house from him moved out and took with them household items that belonged to him. There are suspects and the case is currently under investigation. • A Burglary and Theft occurred between 1:00 P.M. on 09/01/14 and 8:00 P.M. on 09/02/14 in the 2400 block of Cunningham Drive. The victim reported that someone entered the residence and stole some CD’s and jewelry. There are no suspects and the case is currently under investigation.
