Press Release! Contact: Thomas McElveen Bryan Law Firm of SC, L.L.P. (803) 775-1263 tmcelveen@bryanlaw FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 12, 2014 Sumter Musician Hopes To Capitalize on Viral Online Post Sumter, SC – Kimberly Henderson, a 26-year-old singer and songwriter, is no stranger to the stage around her hometown of Sumter. In fact, she has been singing and performing an eclectic mix of blues, alternative, pop, R&B, indie, and even original music to audiences across the Carolinas for years. When she posted a raw video of a tender moment singing her 15-month-old daughter Vaida to sleep with her cover of Sam Smith’s arrangement of “How Will I Know,” a song first made popular by Whitney Houston in 1985, she had no idea that it would ultimately capture the attention of millions of people worldwide. But that’s exactly what happened when the folks at 95.7 The Jet Seattle discovered Henderson’s home video and posted it to their popular Facebook page. Since the Seattle, WA based radio station first shared the video on Thursday night, it has been viewed over five million times in less than 24 hours. In the meantime, Henderson found her voice mailbox, e-mail account, and her social media accounts inundated with a variety of requests and inquiries, including contact from popular television shows “Good Morning America” and “America’s Got Talent,” among others. While she is adjusting to the sudden fame which has accompanied her post’s popularity online, Henderson hopes that the attention she has received will make a positive impact on her career and the lives of others. “I have enjoyed making people happy with my music for a long time,” said Henderson. “I have performed for hundreds of people since I began playing onstage, but I would have never imagined that my nightly audience of one – my baby girl – would instantly become an audience of millions all over the world. I am humbled by the outpouring of love and support that I have received this week from my friends, as well as from complete strangers, and I hope that this may open another door for my family and me.” Henderson’s original post can be viewed online at: https://youtube/watch?v=AFdjQP-5y7w Henderson has directed all requests and inquiries to the attention of her attorney, Thomas McElveen at the Bryan Law Firm of SC, L.L.P. in Sumter, (803) 775-1263. ###
