Press Release Contact: Troy Galloway Phone: (479) 271-6826 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE DATE: November 5, 2014 National Community Planning Month – Youth Poster Contest Bentonville, AR, November 4, 2014….. The American Planning Association and its members participate in National Community Planning Month to raise the visibility of the important role of city planners and community planning across the United States. National Community Planning Month is held annually in October. This year’s theme is Health and Prosperity. To celebrate National Community Planning Month, the City of Bentonville partnered with the Bentonville Public School District to hold a youth poster contest for students at Fulbright, Lincoln, and Washington Junior High Schools. The goal was to provide students the opportunity to visually express how they see and experience Bentonville. Students are asked to illustrate how they participate in health related activities in Bentonville. The winning artwork was created by Cait Hudgens, an eighth grader who attends Fulbright Junior High School. Her art teacher is Jerris Palmer. Please join us in congratulating Cait by attending a banner unveiling that will highlight her artwork on Monday, November 10th at 5:45 p.m. in the parking lot of the City’s Community Development building located at 305 SW “A” Street. The banner will be displayed on the south side of the Community Development building for one year and all submitted artwork will be available for viewing in the lobby of the Community Development building during the month of November.
