Press Release Date of Issue: September 11/2013 Issued By: Students Right to Accommodation Tenth day of indefinite Hunger Strike By Students Right to accommodation Group in Delhi University. Indefinite Hunger Strike by students right to accommodation entered its 10th day today. Another student ‘SURAJ VIR’ from department of Hindi Joined the hunger strike and he said that he would sit on an indefinite hunger strike Along with Praveen Kumar Singh who has now been sitting on the hunger strike for last ten days now. Praveen can hardly speak now. He keeps lying down in front of the Arts Faculty main gate and would give a smile, his face shows the hunger in his stomach but the smile tells his strength and his conviction for the cause. Amid a lot of paper wastage and ruckus being created by the so called student parties and paid crowd being called by these parties, a lot of students got collected at the strike site and a musical program got organized on its own. It was encouraging to see the students sing and dance in support of the cause. Students also made on the spot songs and poems. Praveen said this was very encouraging and gave him a lot of energy to see students understanding the issue now and getting united. However, the university authorities seem completely reluctant towards the issue. Its just the doctors van which visits the site, twice every day and nothing else, Last evening the medical van had to be called when Praveen was not feeling well. Not only that the university authorities are reluctant to the issues raised by the “STUDENTS RIGHT TO ACCOMMODATION” but also that they are not in any way they are able to control the pollution being created by the contestants and the political parties, University seems to be a paper shredder these days as thousands of kilo’s of printed election material can be found anywhere, ‘STUDENTS RIGHT TO ACCOMODATION’ denounces this and questions the impotency being shoun by the election officials of the university.
