Press Release For Immediate Release July 26, 2013 Heroes Memorial - TopicsExpress

Press Release For Immediate Release July 26, 2013 Heroes Memorial Foundation, Inc. has been informed that there are some questions that have been brought up from a member of the media as to how and when our partner agency, Wildland Firefighters Foundation is dispersing funds and providing other services to the families of the fallen 19 Prescott Granite Mountain Hotshots IHC through our very successful benefit t-shirt sale campaign. The decision was made to partner with this well-respected group based on their established history of assisting Wildland Firefighters and their families and their status as a 501 (c) 3 foundation. On Sunday July 21st, only 21 days since the tragic event occurred, the t-shirt fundraiser ended. Teespring, the producer of the shirts has informed us that they are expected to be shipped shortly and should be received around August 9th. During the fundraiser it was stated that all proceeds from the sale, less production expenses would be donated to the WFF, which would administer the funds as they deem appropriate and in accordance with their internal policies. Unfounded allegations based only on cursory and unreliable "investigative reporting" are counter-productive as they unnecessarily result in suspicions about the goodwill and integrity of an organization that has earned trust of the Wildland Firefighting community. We stand by the Wildland Firefighter Foundation and their efforts to continue support for Wildland Firefighter Families. Heroes Memorial Foundation is committed to Honoring our Heroes better and we will continue to protect them and their families from any inaccurate reporting.
