Press Release For immediate release CDETNO takes recruitment efforts to Europe CDETNO represents employers at Destination Canada job fair, held in Paris and Brussels Yellowknife, November 17, 2014 – As part of its mandate to support employers in their search for skilled labour in the Northwest Territories, CDETNO will attend, for the 8th time, Destination Canada job fair in Paris from November 18 to 20 and in Brussels on November 22. CDETNO is flying to France and Belgium. The Immigration, Recruitment and Career Officer, Audrey Marceau and Executive Director, Anne-Christine Boudreau, are going to promote job offers from Northwest Territories to Europeans wishing to settle in Canada. This annual event has been very successful for the past 10 years and it is organized by the Canadian Embassy in Paris to bring together employers and recruitment agencies, such as CDETNO, with skilled jobseekers. Despite the distance separating the old continent to Canada and the Northwest Territories, the option to hire Europeans to fill skilled jobs that can’t be filled by Canadians at the moment is a very exciting opportunity for NWT employers. Last year, following Destination Canada, five Europeans workers came to settle in the Northwest Territories. The hiring process is enhanced by the fact that jobseekers are screened against the job opportunities available at the fair. The jobseekers are also motivated to come to work in Canada as they can benefit from the economic integration support that CDÉTNO provides, said Anne-Christine Boudreau, Executive Director of CDÉTNO.
