Press Release MONTHLY ALLOWANCE: CDDSIU STAFF APPEAL TO UDUAGHAN, FINANCE COMMISSIONER The staff of the Community-Driven Development Social Implementation Unit (CDDSIU), a sub component of the State Employment and Expenditure for Results (SEEFOR) Project has appealed to the State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, the Commissioner for Finance and other stakeholders to intervene in the issue of their monthly allowance being owed the officers for over a period of one year. The visibly angry staff of the Unit made the plea while reacting to the approved percentage for their allowance for the very demanding World Bank Project, adding that the percentage was not in conformity with the hazardous nature of their assignment, especially in the field. They, however, stated that since inception, their counterparts in SEEFOR who are Civil Servants and other of its sub components had been receiving 100% of their salary as allowance and wondered why CDDSIU staff, whose job was even more risky were treated as if they were second class Civil Servants as it concerned the World Bank Project. The staff further disclosed that in a bid to ensure that effective and efficient service delivery was achieved in the field a staff of CDDSIU and the Community Development Officer (CDO) of Isoko South Local Government Area, Mrs Roseline Erebo was involved in a ghastly ‘Okada’ accident in which case she had a broken leg and presently receiving treatment in Benin. While decrying the challenges being faced in the course of their assignment vis aviz non availability of enough Project Vehicles in CDDSIU Office, they further disclosed that the Project Coordinator of SEEFOR, Mr. Benson Ojoko had been receiving over Seven Million Naira as an Annual Allowance which they claimed was not justified and also wondered the rational in trimming the CDDSIU Staff Allowance. They called on the Governor and the Commissioner for Finance to use their good offices to correct the anomalies in the interest of peaceful co-existence and wellbeing of the officers by giving them the opportunity to benefit what SEEFOR, FADAMA had been receiving in order for them to continue to enhance productivity.
