Press Release-Motor Vehicle Crash On Friday, June 6, 2014 at approximately 5:00 pm the Egg Harbor Township Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Black Horse Pike and Spruce Avenue, in the Cardiff section of the township. A 2011 Hyundai Elantra operated by Nicole Botbyl, 27 years of age, from Egg Harbor City was traveling eastbound on the Black Horse Pike when she disregarded a red traffic signal at the intersection of the Black Horder Pike and Spruce Avenue. Botbyls vehicle collided with a gray 2000 Lexus RX3 operated by Abu Nasor, 56 years of age, from Egg Harbor Township. Nasor’s vehicle was traveling north on Spruce Avenue with a green traffic signal at the intersection with the Black Horse Pike. Post collision, Botbyls vehicle struck and knocked over a traffic signal standard anchored in the center median at the eastern side of the intersection. Botbyls vehicle also struck a 2002 blue Chevrolet Trailblazer operated by Ocqueem Brooks, 41 years of age, from Pleasantville. Brooks had been stopped in the eastbound left turn lane on the Black Horse Pike. Botbyl and Nasor were treated at the scene by Egg Harbor Township EMS and transported to AtlantiCare City Campus for moderate injuries. Brooks was not injured. The intersection of Black Horse Pike was shut down for approximately 2 hours while the scene was investigated and cleared by MPO I Robert Moran of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department. The roadway was then partially opened pending repair of the traffic signal standard by NJDOT. Traffic summons pending further investigation.
