Press Release ~~~ On the night of Thursday, August 8th, 2014 at 12AM, the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office received a tip of a possible meth lab being transported in a 2000 Black Dodge pick-up truck operated by James E. Baldwin, age 31of Paintsville, KY. The truck had been seen traveling in the Thelma area. Deputy David Pridemore responded to the tip. When the deputy located the vehicle, he conducted a traffic stop. A preliminary search of the vehicle revealed various Methamphetamine Precursors, as well as finished Meth product. Baldwin was taken into custody and charged Unlawful Possession of Meth precursors, Possession of Methamphetamine and License to be in Possession. Baldwin was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. Assisting at the scene was KSP and Constable Bob Hyden.
