Press Release: Scott Svonkin Elected President of Los Angeles County School Trustees Association DOWNEY, CA -The Los Angeles County School Trustees Association (LACSTA) held their annual elections for its Executive Board recently. The 2013-14 Executive Board is as follows: President: Scott J. Svonkin, Los Angeles Community College District; Vice President: Micah Ali, Compton Unified School District; Secretary/Treasurer: Laura Santos, Bassett Unified School District. Elected as Director 1: Louise Jaffe, Santa Monica Community College; elected as Director 2: Adele Andrade-Stadler, Alhambra Unified School District; elected as Director 3: John Eccleston, San Gabriel Unified School District; elected as Director 4: Steven Llanusa, Claremont Unified School District; elected as Director 5: Roger Bañuelos, Wiseburn School District. President elect Svonkin thanked the LACSTA members saying he was "honored and humbled to have been elected unanimously for the second time to lead the Los Angeles School Trustees Association." "My number one goal will be to help all our elected School and Community College Board members fight to ensure public education is the top priority in this State," he added. About Scott Svonkin Scott currently serves on the Los Angeles Community College Board of Trustees. As chairman of the Finance and Audit Committee, he has helped tackle some longstanding problems and has found new ways to make our College District more efficient.
