Press-Release: State Government is deliberately discriminating with the University of Jammu: NSF More Joy opportunity created for Kashmir Region: NSF Jammu, July 27: National Secular Forum (NSF) has once again accused the state government for discriminating again the University of Jammu and hence the students of this region. Addressing a Press conference here today, Dr. Vikas Sharma said, “The University of Jammu has been neglected in all spheres, with comparison of Kashmir University. University of Jammu is being deprived in all aspects of development whether in the field of employment or in the infrastructural development, every time state authorities are playing the role of progress bearer. Dr. Vikas Sharma alleged that a number of posts were created to provide opportunities to the educated and qualified candidates of the state in the Jammu University Council Meetings a number of times but every time when files were moved forward for further approvals of state government in various departments each and every file has been stayed under negligence of the concerned authority and it remained unconsidered and unmoved on the tables. Dr. Vikas Sharma further alleged that all the campuses of University of Jammu have been working in the absence of the even in the deficiency of the staff and students communities are paying for these discriminations which are the product of the Jammu Kashmir Govt. Authorities. Alleging that the government was showcasing regional biased, Vikassaid, “It is the outcome of Kashmir centric politics and the government’s senior officers is intentionally ignoring the aspirations of Jammu region. We have more number of scholars and deserving candidates waiting an entry to the education system but they have been debarred.” He also lamented the Jammu based politicians and leaders for not raising the issue. “It is quite remorseful that none of our leader has so far taken the issue on right podium. The Jammu based leaders are supposed to underline this issue of key concern. We would go for an unending agitation, if the government fails to cater the issues as soon as possible,” he stressed. Dr.Sharma further said that where Govt. has created more job opportunity for Kashmir University Youth neglecting the Jammu University will in turn result into the exploitation of Jammu youth. He also blamed Jammu based political parties for not representing and raising the Jammu University discrimination issues in the state assembly and parliament of India. Sharma appeals the Chief Minister of the State to look into the matter and hold an enquiry into discrimination over the posts created for Jammu University campuses and in the main campus also as compared to Kashmir region. Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Sukhdev Singh President of NSF, Akshey Sharma General Secretary NSF, Barket Tahir Vice-President NSF, Qayoom Malik President University Unit, and Rishikesh Rana.
