Press Release This morning at 0327 hours the Medina County Sheriffs Office received a call from the owner of the Midway Tavern 9977 Lafayette Road advising that the bars monitoring system was indicating that there was someone in the bar. Deputys arrived within a few minutes to find that a window had been broken out. They then entered the bar to find two subjects hiding inside. The two subjects were unable to escape from the bar due to the quick response time and that all of the doors were double key locked so essentially they were locked in the bar. Brandon Lee Whatmore of Elyria, Ohio and Brandon Lee Thomas of Grafton, Ohio were taken into custody. Both subjects were transported to the Medina County Jail and were charged with Breaking and Entering and Possession of Criminal Tools. Both charges are Felonys of the 5th degree. Each of the subjects have prior criminal histories for similar crimes and other felonies.
