Press Statement Eid Message: Wakil Urges Insurgents to Embrace Peace ....Donates Relief Materials to Victims Minister Of State for Power,Hon Mohammed Wakil has restated his calls ón insurgents to embrace dialogue and peace even as he distributed relief materials worthy several milions Of naira to Victims of Boko Haram in Borno state. In an Eid el Fitr message sent from Saudi Arabia,Hon Wakil said the concluded holy month offered opportunity for all believers to rededicate their lives to the service Of Allah by eschewing all actions in breach Of commandments Of Allah. Accordoding to the minister,Borno state and North East in general has witnessed a lot Of bloodletting which cannt be justified under Islamic tradition,advising that Ramadan as a month Of repentance and service to God should create atmosphere for dialogue and an end to the insurgency. In this holy period,I appeal to insurgents to embrace dialogue and put an end to this bloodletting. In the name Of Allah,I Call ón the Boko Haram Leaders to enter into négotiations with the Government and put an end to this unacceptable sufflering Of our People , Hon Wakil said. While identifying with the Shehu of Borno and other Leaders of muslim Community on this festive period,the minister urged all muslims to retain the lessons of Ramadan which he called perseverance,philantropism and Godliness. Meanwhile,the minister has distributed rice,maize and other relief materials to victims of recent Boko Haram attaks in Damboa,Askra and parts Of Biu in Borno state. The materials was distributed to most victims who fled recent attaks and are now camped in Biu. The minister told the victims that the Federal Government is deploying all neccesary means to put an end to the insurgency.
