Press Statement PDP Queries Status of Abuja Protesters The chairman, Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Bro Felix Obuah is shocked to learn through the media of a protest at the gate of the party’s national secretariat on Wednesday, November 3, 2014 by some disqualified House of Assembly aspirants. Saddened by what he called a carefully orchestrated plot to malign the State chapter of the Party, the leader, and immediate past Minister of State for Education, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike and the National Deputy Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, the Chairman through a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Jerry Needam said this unnecessary protest would not have come from any other but sponsored spoilers. According to him, the party provided an appreciable demonstrable level playing ground for all genuine and committed party members to take advantage of, while the processes of collection and submission of forms and primaries lasted. The PDP challenges the protesters to show proof of their membership of the Party. It’s unimaginable Prince Obuah notes, that a Party so desirous of committed and firm believers in the restoration of sanity in Rivers politics like the PDP ahead of the 2015 elections with a view to winning back the peoples’ stolen mandate will be wished to operate the way and manner the other parties, especially the All Progressives Congress, APC are doing. Perhaps, these black legs among us who are spying on the PDP for their paymaster, the APC thinking they will maneuver their way never realized that rushing to obtain the Intent of Interest and Nomination forms for the primaries is never all that is required to fly the party’s flag at the general elections, Prince Obuah remarked. Bro Obuah therefore discountenanced the misleading claims by the Abuja protesters as nonsensical, stressing that neither himself, the State party leader, Chief Barr. Nyesom Wike nor Deputy National Chairman, Uche Secondus had a hand in their disqualification. Prince Obuah called for all hands to be on deck for the task ahead, saying this is an imperative for every serious and genuine party members at this moment rather than carrying of placards that will lead their carriers nowhere. Signed: Jerry Needam Special Adviser, on Media to State PDP Chairman, Bro. Felix Obuah Thursday, December 04, 2014.
