Press release -- Stolen Vehicle Pursuit, Victoria Ave. @ Valentine Rd., November 21, 2014, 11:24 a.m. Officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in the area of 800 block of south Victoria Ave. The Ventura County Sherriff’s Department , who received a notification from The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System, notified the VPD Commander Center of the stolen vehicle. Officers located the stolen vehicle driving south on Victoria Ave. near the 101 freeway where they attempted an enforcement stop. The vehicle failed to yield and fled westbound on Valentine Rd. The stolen sedan was driven recklessly when trying to evade officers speeding and failing to stop at several red traffic lights. The stolen car turned south on Eastman St. from Market St. where it collided with the curb rendering the vehicle inoperable. All occupants of the vehicle fled on foot into the industrial area. Officers created a perimeter and canvassed the area in an attempt to locate the suspects but were unsuccessful. No one was injured as a result of this incident.
