The PCC President Kuldeep Rai Sharma has met the PCCF Dr Shashi Kumar today and apprised him of the fact that these islands have tremendous potential in tourism sector for which the incoming tourists as well as local tourists need be allowed to have more and more attraction towards these islands. Accordingly he has advocated for raising spots of tourist attraction like Crocodile Park, Snake part as these creatures are available here in abundance. Sharma has also briefed that such consideration will not only attract the tourists but will generate revenue and employment and helpful to the students community. Sharma has also requested to have all types of locally available animals and birds as well some species from mainland in the new zoo coming up at Chidiatapu. On the matter of recent killing of elephant at Mayabunder and also of the past cases, Kuldeep has urged that these creatures be given all care by the trained foresters so that before it goes rough, remedial measures be taken well in advance. He has also stated that these elephants which serve the Forest department in the thick forests where machines can also not be taken and bring good amount of exchequer through their tireless work, may not be killed in future. Dr Shashi Kumar has given a patient hearing and assured to look into the matters.
