Press release for general training agreement signing Between CAA (Cambodia Angkor Air) and VFT Jsc (Viet Flight Training Joint Stock Company) On 12th August 2014, at 14:00, the Signing Ceremony of the General Training Agreement (GTA) between Cambodia Angkor Air (CAA) and Viet Flight Training Joint Stock Company (VFT) will be held at the 5-star Intercontinental Hotel, Phnom Penh. Viet Flight Training Joint Stock Company (VFT) was founded in June 2008 according to the Prime Ministers guidelines on Vietnam Aviations commercial pilot recruiting and training, together with the major aviation and relevant economic shareholders sectors as Vietnam Airlines, Vietnam Helicopter Corp. (Ministry of Defense), Vietnam Aircraft Leasing JSC (VALC), ESMA Aviation Academy (France) and HIPT Group. This cooperation, which consists in the concert of these strictly relevant organizations in the aviation industry, promises a strong underpinning to its efficiency, when Vietnam Airlines- the National Flag Carrier of Vietnam, is willing to the graduates from VFT; ESMA supports by its well-known expertise in flight training technology, HIPT Group contributes actively by its accredited solutions in IT while VALC and Vietnam Helicopter Corp. stand by with their logistic and infrastructure. On the other side, Cambodia Angkor Air, the National Flag Carrier of Cambodia is fruit of the inter-governmental commitment to reinforce the aviation of the Kingdom of Cambodia. From the very first day, the Carrier, beyond its own business targets, carries the mission confided by the Government to promote the trade between the country and others, also to bring the Khmer culture to the world. In this spirit, Cambodia Angkor Air, strongly supported by its shareholder Vietnam Airlines, strives to develop a generation of young Cambodians who, chosen amongst the most talentuous, driven by enthusiasm of achievement, to equip with knowledge and skill to become the key persons of the aviation sector in near future. Pilots, amongst others, are those of the most important persons for any airline, especially for Cambodia whose aviation industry still stands in the fledgling period. The country has always been in lack of commercial pilots, yet to know that not any Cambodian has been sent to a flight training program for several tens of years. Necessity and readiness of both parties as above-mentioned, along with encouragement from two governments, have lead to the flight training program marked by this signing ceremony. The program would expectedly be sponsored USD 3 millions by the government of Vietnam. Cambodian youngster will be sent to basic training courses given by VFT. CAA, from its side, is committed to receive the program’s qualifiers to habilitate them as CAA’s professional pilots.
